A. "Slipped disc" refers to a bulging intervertebral disc. A degenerated disc can bulge into the spinal canal and irritate the nerves that are exiting the spinal canal. This ia a common cause of back pain, and your treatment options depend on the extent of the damage to the disc. Chiropractic manipulation is very effective at treating bulged discs. More advanced disc bulges may require surgical intervention.
